Now that my desktop (with no mic, camera or Siri) has been relocated upstairs to my office, I’m using my laptop downstairs for most of my “workday: -- which I formerly only used when traveling. Laptop has mic, camera and version of OS with Siri (which I’ve barely experimented with because reasons).
Alas, it’s impossible to know how well I’ve got the laptop locked-down.
Additionally, I had to replace my 6-y.o. smartphone (Nexus 5) while I was in L.A. due to clumsiness. Fortunately, T-Mobile had the Pixel 4 on sale for half-price. It’s probably way more phone than I need but the price was right.
I’m still learning a lot of what it can do (my smartphone “needs” are pretty basic -- calls, text, email and navigation) but haven’t learned enough yet to lock it down as much as feasible.

No word yet about when we’re going to get our final payment or why it’s being delayed. I will be drafting a “mild” nastygram today. Jim and I thought we had a cordial professional relationship with the Board; guess we don’t. Fuckers.
I’ve lately been flipping my schedule for the weekend and then flipping it back for the work days. I’m not sure if I can keep that up, but I do feel more productive in general. I can get more stuff done on the weekend, so I guess that’s good.
I see that Kenosha burned again last night -- I hope they get a handle on things or it will go on all week and beyond.
In training this week -- teh bestest place ever has decided that most of my skills really aren’t needed and I should spend the majority of my time doing something else. It’s a paycheck.
I think the Democrats and Media (BIRM) have learned that night-after-night of riots and destruction are good for Pres. Trump and not good for their party.
Watching the videos out of various cities and locations on the uncontrolled mob violence and intimidation tactics, it seems to me that the best course of action is to either immediately retreat with what dignity you can muster or attack at the first provocation. Being passive and taking the abuse isn’t an option. Conversation and dialogue isn’t an option.
Sad state of affairs, but we’ve gone past peak stupid and into Mad Max territory.
