Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

TGIF, GN!!1!

Mac --

Lurve teh thread meme. I’d bet a significant amount of money that the majority of folks who whined about Land O’ Lakes’ packaging were even paler than I am.

It would be a tremendous statement if one of them set themselves on fire in the middle of the court.

Heeee! I’d probably watch the video of it; don’t think I’d pay for a ticket, ‘tho.

Re “anti-racism”: Where the fuck were all these “allies” 50+ years ago when folks were doing the actual heavy-lifting for equality under the law? What did their parents / grandparents do?

Pawthetic poseurs. Stuff like fair housing wasn’t exactly popular even in the “liberal community” of Cleveland Heights back then.

Make them live by their own rules.

Alinsky had that right. 👿

I picture a place called Cancel Land. It’s where all the cultural icons that have been deemed unworthy of existing in modern society are exiled and they can sit around and commiserate together. The Land o Lakes maiden, Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, the Washington Redskins logo…

Those product mascots are all POC…huh.

(Chief Wahoo, the Cleveland Indians mascot, has also been “cancelled”. Which has pissed off a lot of actual Native Americans, but whatever…)

Hey…how come sports teams are never named for my people? 😉

I’m too lazy to look it up, but there must be professional sports leagues in Israel?

I wonder how many people cheer on the Galilee Gefilte Fish? Or the Hebron Hamotzi? Or the Tel Aviv Tzimmes? I hear the Rehovot Rabbis have a pretty good following.

Good morning, Fatwa, and happy Friday.

Watching the a**holes harassing and threatening people leaving the RNC last night in DC -- the one weakness they all have is their audience. They are all performance artists, either live streaming or capturing their heroic revolutionary actions on their mobile devices for uploading later. Of course they are also performing for their immediate meat buddies, but if you could destroy their cell phones, I bet most of them would break down in tears and leave the area.

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

Gotta cancel the Land O’ Lakes maiden, created by a Native American artist. Gotta cancel the Redskins logo, created by a Native American and based off the local tribe.

I read that the Chargers decided to cancel their first practice in their new stadium because they were too upset about the shooting of the armed child rapist in Wisconsin. Strangely they weren’t upset about the child he raped.

With the exception of the UFC, I’m pretty much done with all professional sports.

Many years ago, Steve Allen used to host a tv show called Meeting of Minds. It employed a discussion group/interview format with actors portraying historical figures from all different eras. It was entertaining to listen to Attila the Hun debate with Thomas Jefferson and being interrupted by Socrates or Madam Curie. From what I recall, the script was historically accurate based on their own words and contemporaneous accounts.

That would be a great format to utilize with the Cancel Land characters.

That was a good show…and I’m down with this idea.

Mac: thread pic! They don’t see the irony when they do these things.

Flipping the channels, I watched some of the sports talk shows on ESPN and Fox. All of the time was spent bemoaning the systemic racism in America, the most recent shooting, and how brave our athletes are for making a stand and refusing to play. Refusing to play is another meaningless gesture as the team doesn’t forfeit a game, the games just get postponed so what did they really risk with their “brave stand”?

On the scale of suckiness, I’m having a hard time placing pro sports and their media pundits. Are they worse or better than Hollywood? The media? Lefties? It’s becoming one big bucket of suck -- a melting pot of worthlessness.

I find that media pundits rank the same or worse than Hollywood, the NFL and NBA rank about the same as Hollywood, I’m not certain about MLB, and the NHL seems better than most Lefties. The leadership of each sport can go to that barren field and try to plant a few fvcks, water them with their blood, and fertilize them with their decomposing bodies.
