Rodent war update. Last night before I went to bed, I went outside to check the status of my traps -- i had placed two of them next to the front tires under the engine. Neither trap was sprung and the bait intact, but inbetween the traps there was a lot of rat scat. A lot.
Elena was saying last night that two of her cousins have said they never talk about supporting Trump because they don’t need people attacking them or their homes (this is in California) but they will be voting for Trump. One of Elena’s sisters hate Trump but the other two and her father will be voting for him, along with her of course.
The real fun has been seeing how enthusiastic Elena has become about political news. She used to have little interest in it but now watches hours of it. The Spanish channels mostly hate Trump but she just gets mad or amused at their bias.
I find it interesting too that Elena and her family don’t look for a President that is good for their “people”, they look for a President that is good for America. They are enthusiastic about their new Country. They tend to have conservative values, they don’t care much for or trust much Mexican-Americans or “cholos” that have been raised in American cities and steeped in bario culture. They try to deal with immigrants from Mexico or anglos. Elena did grow up in Mexico City and it did effect her outlook, but while she had trouble adjusting to the “quiet” of San Jose, she came to enjoy the life in smaller towns. I had tried to tell her about it but she was a bit taken aback at first when strangers would come up and offer advice in stores and such. She has come to enjoy it much more now. Texas was a step farther but she loves it now.
Happy hoppy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
I hope The Big Route&Trade; went well for dv8 and Harper.
Sven -- rats will usually avoid new traps until they’ve been there for a few days -- which is hard in your situation. They also might not like the particular bait you’re using. You might be able to find the path they’re using and place a trap in that area.
Yeah, this guy is going to be difficult. Checked this morning and considerably more rat scat underneath the engine. One trap had its bait gone, peanut butter, but wasn’t sprung. I found the other one back by the muffler, sprung, and about a quarter size spot of blood next to it. He was also in the engine well, but minimal mess.
Later today, I’ll head to the hardware store and buy some repellent and some rat traps.
I am listening to this as I type this. I think this was posted here before but I missed it. The interviewer annoys me interrupting but I have long loved listening to VDH. This is great. I would love to see an update now.
Happy Punny Wednesday, GN!

I think I’m dealing with a smart rat.
Without further comment.
Let’s hope people are listening.

Here’s hoping that the Hunter Biden story has some legs. God knows Trump could use some help.

Oops, here is an update. I guess I will be tied to my PC for a while yet.
