I strongly suspect this is your best course of inaction, Sven. Greeting a F-to-M cow-worker with “How’s it hangin’?” would likely not be well received, even though that’s just treating them like “one of the boys”.

Gov. Nuisance has (surprise!) once again changed the rules for California and the rainbow COVID-19 tier system he created. The number of positive tests has been spiking lately, but the number of hospitalizations and deaths has not been following suit. In fact in my county, hospitalizations have been trending downward. Rather than follow the rules he previously established, he has decided to move most every county back into the most restrictive tier. According to the rules, businesses have three days to adjust to the new restrictions, but not this time! Businesses must comply immediately! Why people continue to vote for this kind of “leadership” is beyond my ken.
Ventura County is the same way, Paddy. Deaths have been trending downwards -- no one has died in the last 14 days. There’s currently 49 people hospitalized with 11 of those in ICU. We have plenty of ventilators and available hospital beds.
In total, 173 people have died from the Chinese Flu. Of those, none in the 0-17 age bracket. 1 in the 18-24 age bracket.
Had an unusual occurrence here this morning. I bought Jack Tatum one of those carpeted trees that he just loves and it’s set up by the patio door so he can look out the window as he naps. Hanging underneath between the scratching posts is a plastic butterfly that he generally ignores, but that he bats around once in a while.
So I was getting out the bird seed next to Tatum’s tree, and I look down on the floor and on his catnip sock is the butterfly. I figured he just finally knocked it off and it landed there. Nope, it’s still hanging in its usual place. I pick up the sock and look closer -- it’s a live butterfly, a Monarch. Not moving much, but fully grown and undamaged. I took it outside and set it on a post away from the birds and kept an eye on it. It flapped its wings a couple of times, but mostly just sat there. Last time I checked, it was gone.
Odd. No idea where it came from or how it ended up where it did.
IMHO, Newsom needs to become intimately acquainted with an Esso station and a meathook.
Either that, or the yammering peasants need to simply STFU because they don’t know what’s best for them, else they wouldn’t have elected their betters to rule them. 👿
