We had the same schedule as on Xmas, so I got done by 1:30am. Started at 4pm. The other commercial driver helped me with the mail, so that made it go very fast. It was nice getting done early.

Good point, Mac, re the onstar. But I’m loving the 2021 features. Anyway, Google already knows everything I say and everywhere I go, so, nothing new, really…..

HNY, GN!

Hi, dv45!

Glad teh other driver provided you with some assistance yesterday and that you were able to get finished ahead of schedule.

Fatwa Arbuckle — living the life!

Wheeeeeee!

Actually stayed up late enough to “ring in the New Year”.

This was assisted by all of the GA-legal fireworks going off; state laws re same were relaxed a few years ago and it’s rather amazing what can be acquired legitimately.

Additionally, our immediate neighbors on one side -- who are generally quite “good neighbors” -- were listening to banda and música norteña on one of the truck stereos while lighting stuff off.

Tuba from a high wattage sub-woofer is every bit as vexing as a Roland TR-808 (old school drum machine) kick drum; CasaK was rattling. But they only do that a few times a year, so I just gritted my teeth. And they did cease at 12:30 a.m. per county noise laws specifically pertaining to 12/31-01/01 and 07/04-05.

That said, as someone whose tastes in non-classical music tends toward styles where the low end is rather important, I really don’t understand the appeal of seriously over-hyping it below 250Hz. (Pretty sure I’d feel the same even if I were not a cantankerous old bastard.)

I was talking to a friend a few weeks ago who was describing a visit to a store in Ventura near the intersection of “Main and C-word”. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the street name wasnt “c*nt” but rather “Seaward”.

Happy New Year, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8, Sven, and Fatwa!

Unlike most years, we stayed up to ring in the new year. We played a number of games and consumed a number of beverages. This morning we’ve been watching the Rose Parade presentations. It’s interesting watching the 2020 parade and hearing the comments, knowing what is to come.

Fatwa -- when I worked in Mexico at a maquiladora, a local radio station was on the PA system on the factory floor. I can state without equivocation that I really don’t enjoy norteña.

Nor I; it’s probably improved by the wall-shaking tuba being the only thing I can hear.

I really don’t get the whole overly-loud sub-woofer thing. Especially when it makes the body panels on the vehicle rattle.

Then you’re missing out on that wonderful accordion sound.
