I strongly suspect the Left is behind the violence at the U.S. Capitol, but we’ll probably never really know.
I sure as shit “question the timing”.
It appears we are now in a state of open civil war. Our “leaders” have been warned for a long fucking time this was coming; they mostly mistook great restraint by ordinary folks for complacency.
To mix my metaphors, we’ve finally peeked into the Schrödinger-Pandora, Ltd.’s Box; the Evil’s been loosed and the cat appears to be pinin’ for the fjords.
Fuck the corrupt, filthy scum who ruin run our country at every level.
The COVID lockdowns have been bad enough but we ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Like you, Fatwa, still digesting yesterday’s events. Was shocked this morning to learn that not one, but four people were killed yesterday although details on the other three deaths are not yet available. Odd, that.
Being a social media nonuser, I have to admit I’ve not heard of “Gab” but I do like their statement:
“Gab isn’t creating state failure in the United States. Our pathetic politicians are, enabled by their corporate media allies such as the New York Times.”

AoS has video showing the Capitol Police opening barricades to let protestors in to the Capitol. The firm XRVision has used facial recognition software to identify two Antifa members in the Senate chamber. There’s also video of a young man with a billy club smashing the semi-circular window above a set of doors into the Capitol. He’s wearing a black helmet with a Trump sticker conveniently placed on the back. The crowd identifies him as Antifa and someone pulls him down. You can see a few other helmeted figures rescue him. Other video inside the Capitol show a cordon of police keeping protestors back while a few young men dart at the police, but never engage, trying to draw a response. That certainly isn’t a tactic used by angry protestors. In other video, outside the Capitol, you see a few people arguing with police. Someone comes up from behind and pushes one of the protestors, knocking him into the police, starting a wave of pepper spray and push-back by the police. Oh, and the Mayor of D.C. on Tuesday told Federal law enforcement to stand down -- additional help wouldn’t be needed.
Pelosi, Schumer, and others publicly calling for Trump to be removed from Office now through impeachment or the 25th Amendment. Yes, that will cool things down right now.
They -- and their handlers -- want to strike now, while they have a chance, to keep Trump from running again in 2024, and to keep the MAGA movement from taking on a life apart from Trump. They mean to solidify their gains, no matter the cost.
I fear you are right. Removing Trump from office is unlikely, but the hammer is dropping on all that supported him or still do. There is no mercy or self-reflection on the left side of American life, and yet we keep thinking there is. Stupid us.
