Still processing everything that’s going on; necessary but certainly not enjoyable. Especially given that so many “ground rules” have changed in America over the past few years.
I’m exceedingly resistant to being the gummint’s bitch. Or the CCP’s (BIRM).
Probably ought to reread “Rules for Radicals” sooner rather than later.
I think I’m through processing what’s happened over the last two months and in particular on Wednesday. We all know what is coming next in regards to our rights and livelihoods -- it’s going to be any schoolyard shooting turned up to 11.
I do believe that the Trump business empire is done as well. After he leaves office, the pressure is going to mount for boycotts, regulations, and lawsuits against every aspect of it and anyone associated/doing business with it.
“The president’s Achilles’ heel—relying on the wrong people to advance his political interests—led to his final ouster this week. Donald Trump ran out of runway and instead of preparing for a soft landing, he pumped the gas. It’s hard to blame him: His court challenges had been thwarted by the very judges he elevated to the federal bench, his hodgepodge legal team whirred in defeat, and Republican senators he helped elect quickly turned on him.”
If you can trust the media, then the Dems are once again overplaying their hand by demanding again today resignation or impeachment. I hope that Trump responds that he isn’t resigning and then let Pelosi push on through. I’m in a blow the whole thing up kind of mood.
I also think Trump, after flipping them off, needs to sit down in his office and start doing executive orders and pardons. Ignore this whole sideshow.
And that may be one reason why they are pushing for impeachment -- they know that Trump has some presidential powers, like releasing classified information, that could damage a lot of them. I won’t be surprised if you see govt officials playing the “hero patriot” card and refusing to obey Trump’s last orders, orders that will be fully legal.
I previously saw video of the Capitol Police moving barricades to allow protestors to access the doors to the Capitol. Here’s video showing that at least one group didn’t have to break down doors to enter the building. Further, the hallway down which they walked was lined with police. If the Capitol Police were trying to keep protestors out of the building, they seem really confused on the concept. If the video won’t embed, then I don’t know what I’m doing.
Capitol police open doors for the protestors. They stand aside and invite them inside. pic.twitter.com/OnSd3KGzz5
While 2020 was a banner year for gun and ammunition sales, I expect 2021, if the manufacturers can keep up, will blast year’s numbers out of the water.
Friday salutations, GN!

BBL.
Maaaan…I’m old enough to remember when folks would cough to cover up a fart, rather than the inverse.
Heh!
double heh!!!
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
Excellent thread pic, Mac!
I have a feeling we’re going to be saying that a lot over the next x number of years.
Good morning Fatwa and Paddy.

I’m afraid you are right about that, Sven.

Excellent analysis. Thanks for sharing, Sven.

WTF??? And after watching a few more times, WTF????

That is until the government rules them illegal operations.
Well…. Lots of ominous things. Let us hope it is not the end of the world as we know it.
More tomorrow morning….
