Teh Squeaky Wheel
Happy Mid-Week Day, Wheelizens!
I, too, appreciate Mrs. Sven’s “annotation” of the print on your wall.
And share your sense of looming doom; I don’t think our rulers understand what a powder keg they’re sitting on. Perhaps they simply don’t care as they think they’re magically insulated from the consequences of their actions.
They aren’t very smart, are they?
I found this article about CA’s Office of Election Cybersecurity more than a little chilling:
To paraphrase Yakov Smirnoff, “In America, people secure elections. In California, elections secure people.”
Started to watch the impeachment circus this morning and could only stomach a few minutes. It will go as it goes.
Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Is that VP-elect* Harris in the thread-pic?
Fatwa -- I read that article the other day. Isn’t California something?
Sven -- thanks for taking one for the team.
How the left views every Trump supporter including Trump’s view of the press at around the 1:50 minute mark.
Keeping an eye on the impeachment vote, it’s interesting how quickly things can fall apart. Not to mention the unbelievable heights that hypocrisy can soar.
There’s at least 10 Republicans that I think just tossed aside their future political career, at least in the GOP. Not that I think the GOP is going to b making huge gains in the coming years.
I hope that Trump embraces this, his second impeachment, as a badge of honor. Not to excuse his missteps, but to highlight how terrible the other side really is.
This is not the road to retirement that I envisioned.
This whole impeachment thing has me confused. I can see Pelosi pushing it for her political reasons, but does it have any effect at all on Trump’s remaining actions in office? For instance, if he pardons someone tomorrow, can that pardon be overturned? Or if the Senate actually takes it up later and Trump is convicted, does that mean that any EOs he may have signed between now and the end of his term become void?
If the Senate takes up the impeachment matter and Trump is convicted before his term ends, then his term ends, effectively, upon conviction. He won’t be able to take any further actions and won’t be able to hold any Federal office. If they take it up after the 20th, then they can’t do anything, because he is no longer President. Any actions Trump takes between now and the end of his term, either Jan. 20th or sooner, will not be affected by impeachment.
I wonder if the swamp will refuse to follow his orders between now and then?
What amazes me is the way the left has played with panic and crisis. Last week, Trump was dangerous, deranged, an existential and threat to the country and the world that had to be removed from office the following Wednesday to save all of us.
It’s always “this is critical!!!! an emergency!!!!! the MOST important thing ever that we must address right now!!!!!!” and then days go by. Fuckers.
I hope I outlive Pelosi cuz I’d like to piss on her grave.
Ace sure has a way with words. “Observers of Jake Tapper have long noted that whenever he says something super partisan, super unprofessional, or super assholish, he attempts to deflect from the mini-scandal, and to gather support from the gaytarded fake conservatives who follow him around like they’re in love with the wrinkles of his asshole, by tweeting out empty stuff showing how much he supposedly “cares” for “the vets.”
Jake went to Vetcon 1.
