Hi, Fatwa -- Mrs Sven talked to one of the workers as she was running an errand after the power was back on -- said they got about half of the work done, but didn’t know when they’d be back to finish up.
Dennis Prager wrote something over at American Greatness with which I totally agree:
“So, then, there is one question I have never heard posed that trumps all other considerations: Would moral considerations prevent Democrats from cheating to oust Trump? Or, to put the question in the positive: Would Democrats deem it morally obligatory to cheat on behalf of Joe Biden?
The answer to the first question is no: Moral considerations would not prevent decent Democrats from cheating to prevent Trump’s reelection. The answer to the second question is yes: Decent Democrats would deem it morally obligatory to cheat on behalf of Biden.”
Hi, Paddy -- Prager is the only one that I’ve seen bring this up. It’s something I’ve thought about the last four years: if Trump is worse than Hitler, an existential threat to not just America but the entire world, then are you not morally justified -- indeed, obligated -- to kill him?
When I don’t know what to say, I think the best thing is to tell a story. So:
Yesterday, I streamed the removal of the rest of my Xmas decorations. I’m not sure what made me do that. I didn’t say much during this 20 minute stream, but… the funniest thing is that I dropped one Xmas card and it took almost as long to find it as it took to remove all the other cards.
I just watched a recording of the latest test flight of SpaceX’s Starship 9. Great flight up, good re-entry, engines re-ignited for landing (well, it looked like one of two engines re-ignited), and it crashed spectacularly at its designated landing spot.
in case you gerbils haven’t heard this, this video is going viral. And I gotta say, it’s not bad. It has millions of views on youtube, but I’m linking a bitchute mirror just in case they take it down.
AOC is apparently back in the news today, recounting how frightened she was during the 1/6 riots, how she hid somewhere in the Capitol, and that she’s a victim, of course, of some nebulous sexual abuse in years gone by. I haven’t listened to her account, nor will I.
I will say this though: it’s incredibly embarrassing how the run-hide-fight mentality has hardened its grip throughout society so that fighting is supposed to be the last resort when an “insurrection” occurs. How brave our elected officials are.
The most brutally honest reporting on what’s going on in Mexico with the cartels.
“Sending greetings to our Borderland Beat community. As many of you have already noticed, we are back to posting information and sharing content of Mexican drug cartels. Thank you all for the support you give us that motivate us to continue forward. Remember, we all do this for free without any compensation, our only interest is to share light of cartel activity.”
My boss was touting the green new deal today and mentioned how he was doing his part by having solar panels installed on his roof (with govt subsidies of course, altho he didn’t mention that). I asked him if solar was so great, why does he have an 8000W gasoline powered generator wired into his house as well.
Role reversal -- not a bad thing.
Happy “Cockatoo Who Got Teh Cat” Tuesday, GN!
Heya, Sven!
Glad you got power back yesterday (despite the fact SCE didn’t finish the “upgrades”) and that you know how long your battery will power your network.

To Hell with the criminal scum who make up our government.

Happy “Don’t place your societal expectations on me” Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!
Sven -- glad you got your power back, sorry that you don’t know when the job will be finished. Most likely at the most inconvenient time.
I read that Dennis Prager article the other day -- good points.

Good afternoon, Gerbils.
Just dropping in to say “Hi.”
Finding myself curiously muted this afternoon.

Anyway, I’m officially undecorated.
So there you are.
Just in case watching cement dry is too stimulating:

I admit -- I LOL’d.
Hi dv8! and Harper!
I just watched a recording of the latest test flight of SpaceX’s Starship 9. Great flight up, good re-entry, engines re-ignited for landing (well, it looked like one of two engines re-ignited), and it crashed spectacularly at its designated landing spot.
I hope they got good data on this one.

I read the Praeger Article. Pretty much, he hits it on the nose, as usual.
I’ve been following him for a very long time. He used to have a TV show in the early 90s, and was on the radio as well.
On a different note:
I seem to want human interaction, but I have some trouble making it happen. Bringing it about, you know.
It’s kind of hard to do when locked down.

I’m quite pleased that Borderland Beat is back up and running: http://www.borderlandbeat.com/2021/01/bringing-life-to-bb.html
