Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
One good thing about working from home is I don’t have to worry about cookies in the break room.
We’re having our annual authorizer visit at school today. Normally it’s an on-site visit where they go through our files and ask lots of questions to determine if we are doing things correctly and serving our students. This year it will be a series of Zoom meetings. This is the first year I’ve been involved in one of these, so there’s an air of uncertainty. I spent most of yesterday going through student records, making sure I have all the needed data in all the right places and statistics at my fingertips. I’ll be glad when this is all over.
I didn’t watch much of yesterday’s impeachment circus, but by all accounts Trump’s team did awful while the Dems were unsurprisingly slick and hyperbolic.
I just finished a very decent book on Hannibal, Rome, and the Second Punic War called The Ghosts of Cannae by Robert L. O’Connell. Highly recommended if you are interested in early Roman history and one of the greatest single battles of ancient times and its aftermath.
There’s a connection with what’s going on in our American Senate today and the Roman Senate of more than 2000 years ago in the run up to the third and final Punic War that saw the destruction of Carthage -- it’s the Roman senator, Cato the Censor, who ended all of his speeches with “Carthago delenda est” meaning “Carthage must be destroyed!”
Today the Dems are essentially saying Trump delenda est and I fear that Trump is going to share the same fate as Carthage. As POTUS, Trump was pretty much untouchable -- as a private citizen, not so much and the left is going to go after him, his family, and all their holdings until there’s nothing left. This sham impeachment is only the first round.
Good morning, GN -- happy Wednesday.

Good luck, Paddy, for a quick and positive audit/visit.

Terrible. Just terrible. FOUR comments on a Wednesday????? I hope Jerry doesn’t notice.
Jerry has. Jerry is displeased.
Happy to see you, Jerry!
Hey Jerry!!
Sorry, it’s been a long day and I’m still in an IEP meeting. Dinner is going to be late tonight.
I hate disappointing Jerry!
Good to see you, Jerry, and you too, Mac. We’ll do better tomorrow.
