Owing to another employee lost at the Paper, I’ve begun dong another day there on Monday night. So… More money, I guess. I had to put my foot down though and not do the guy’s whole job because that would amount to some way too long shifts.
There are ways in which I can do it all, but it would require some compromises regarding time frames which would not be optimal. So the boss is forced to assign two other routes to either himself or at any rate, people other than me. Still, this new Monday thing gets me closer to full time status--not that there are any more benefits, French or otherwise.
I wonder which flavor of dipping sauce is preferred by crows.
It was sadly funny yesterday watching the media and pundits grinding their gears changing the narrative that the Boulder shooter (piss be upon him) is white to “it’s Trump’s / the Second Amendment’s fault”.
Not to mention the scumbag’s family claiming he had mental health issues and that he was teased growing up because of his name.
Well… when the twitterverse said such shooters usually are white people they were partially right. It does tend to be white leftists or Muslims that go on shooting sprees.
As one Arizona sheriff quipped: Rather than impounding guns, we could do more good by impounding Democrats and whatdaya know… they’re ALREADY registered!!!
by the way, this includes Tim McVeigh. They scrubbed his political affiliation from the internet but I spent a few months digging around and found out he was apparently a Democrat.
The term “mass shootings” is as nebulous as “assault weapons” and that’s just the way the left likes it -- for it to mean whatever they want it to mean at a moment in time. Consistency, facts, and clarity have never been their strong suit.
I don’t know if McVeigh had any political party affiliation, but if he did it had no bearing on what drove him to Oklahoma City.
I have often fantasized about coming up with some kind of study proposal and bilking the government or some leftist foundation out of millions of dollars.

Now that Teh Younger has moved out, I’ve got a mattress to dispose of. I called my local waste hauler and scheduled a bulky item pickup for yesterday (our regular trash day). I had to wrap the mattress in plastic, then get it to the curb. Of course they didn’t pick it up. I just got off the phone and it seems somebody rescheduled the pickup to next week -- without contacting me. Now I’ve got to stash the mattress somewhere for a week, out of the weather, then haul it back out to the curb. I can complain to city hall, but this company just got a ten-year contract, so that’s not going to do any good. Sigh. First world problems.
It’s interesting and sad how Conservatives have turned on Gov. Kristi Noem over this transgender sports bill. They got their knives out for her -- no benefit of the doubt as to her reasons for vetoing it and requesting changes; no grace period, just she’s done. Yeah, we got so many Conservatives that we can toss one away over one stupid fucking issue.
The Fedealist is the worse. They’ve jumped all over her, but did they say anything about their SCOTUS picks of Gorsuch, Barrett, and Kavanaugh when they refused to do anything at all about the election? Nope.
I’m done with most “conservative” organizations and putting the others on a short leash until they prove their worth. We don’t need another Mitch McConnell or Lindsay Graham, let alone a Mitt Romney.
