High-Tech Mouser Tuesday “howdy”, GN!

Thanks for teh “positive vibes” yesterday. Feeling somewhat better today…but it’s damnably frustrating dealing with clients who seem to a) be unmoored from reality, and b) short on common sense / logical thinking. Just because they believe something, that somehow makes it so.

Also that someone -- but absolutely not them -- MUST PAY!!1!

Perhaps we should threaten to release the Rainbow Roofing Unicorn. 👿

Paddy --

Here’s hoping that your employer’s IT folks can make the transition a lot smoother than they have thus far.

dv8 --

You’re probably wise not to schlep a second BT speaker to work; I suspect there’s limited benefit to doing so. Also very cool there’s tech to add BT to older audio gear.

As re my new amp rig: Very glad to have something which is a -- so far -- good compromise between accurately reproducing the sounds my gear puts out and has a very convenient form factor. (The amp is the size of a space heater -- 11″x11″x18″H). As always, acoustic piano sounds are the benchmark. 🙂

The noise floor is ridiculously low compared with anything I’ve ever played though; seems to be effectively non-existent

Here’s a linky:

I suspect the small powered sub -- when it arrives -- will provide another ~10%. improvement in the overall sound quality. Kind of a splurge, but this is almost certainly the last amp system I’m going to purchase…WTF.

Happy Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!

Fatwa -- I get that the HOA doesn’t feel that they should have to pay for a problem that wasn’t their fault. Most people feel that way. But at some point in the maturation process, people also realize that the same thought process applies to others, as well.

Your new amp rig sounds great! I hope you get a lot of use and enjoyment out of it!

Hi, Paddy!

Cheers for the good amp-related thoughts. We’ll see how lucky I get in finding my first two new bandmates: a bassist and guitarist.

Sadly for the HH-A HOA, they own the buildings; the window of opportunity to go after the developer closed more than thirty years ago. (If either of their two previous roofers had done a first class job, they’d have learned about the construction defects a long time ago.)

LambiePieK and I are enjoying some delicious, spicy Hate Chicken Chick-fil-A sammies for a late lunch.

Good afternoon, boys. A rough day on the ranch -- hope you are doing better.

A brighter note -- I took my truck into a garage this morning that a friend recommended and so far I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. Service managers that know vehicles and weren’t in any rush to get me in and out. On top of which, and I’ve never seen this before, after going through the truck top to bottom they sent me a 23 page report with pictures of everything they looked at with detailed comments and recommendations. Several things that I said I wanted, like changing the the oil in the differential and transmission, they recommended not doing -- it would have been easy enough for them to just go ahead and do it.

Back to ranch --
