Paddy sorry to hear about your legal troubles. Usually, these kind of things are handled by the Insurance, as you say. Hope it all turns out all right.
dv8 — that could have been quite the situation if you hadn’t found some more propane. You would think someone would be assigned to filling the empty tank each time you have to swap tanks.
I guess that would be me (now.) The Sedona paper is but a shell of it’s former self. The circulation manager left shortly after I was hired, and I’m pretty much what’s left of that department. It’s kind of nebulous as to what my actual duties are. I’d probably like to do more in the office. I could keep the route sheets more updated because I think the payroll lady is doing that stuff now. I do a certain amount of in office stuff that I picked up over the last year or so.
I usually keep the main vehicles gassed up because I have time to do so while I’m waiting for the papers to arrive. I wish I knew more about the equipment salvage business, because I could help them get rid of all the equipment they don’t use anymore. But I guess that’s a low priority for them.
As far as the Big Route goes, I’ve added some more stops to the route. I throw away so many bundles every night that I try to place the paper in stores or hotels that might want them. The carwash gets 15 a week now, and a few other places I’ve started.
Apparently, teh thread kitteh was never neutered as it clearly still has its tentacles.
I’ll be here all week…try the veal!
Good morning Fatwa. I found a rare picture of your entertainment system:
Heh. LambiePieK would find that unsightly, methinks.
Harper loves bass.
Me, too. (Used to double on upright bass.) But it’s gotta be in proportion; really dislike overly-hyped bass. Particularly when some idjit’s car stereo vibrates my vehicle. Or the walls at CasaK.
BBL.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!), and Fatwa!
dv8 -- I understand about the demise of local papers. We dropped ours a couple of years ago because the paper kept getting thinner while the price went up. Local reporting was replaced with stories from the AP, NYT, and WaPo.
Fatwa -- that is some ugly fish. Must be a bottom dweller.
Moar family business drama yesterday. The partners voted to replace the General Partner (who would stay on in her paid position as property manager), but she has refused to sign the necessary document that has to be filed with the state to record the change in GP. Without that, we can’t get the banks or QuickBooks to turn over access to the accounts. We finally had a lawyer send a nastygram and now she’s claiming we’re going to fire her and she wants one year’s severance pay to retrain herself so she can find other employment. For months we’ve been telling her that we want her to continue managing the property, but that we need to separate the two positions (GP and property manager) for improved checks and balances and oversight. None of that seems to have gotten through and she has now put herself in a position where nobody feels they can work with her anymore and she will indeed be fired. SMH.
Har! I sure wouldn’t want that thing dwelling on my bottom.
Sorry to read about the Family Business Drama; is it possible the GP wants out entirely and she sees this current situation as a way to weasel some cash out of the business?
I don’t think so. She does want to retire at some point, but my sense is that it wouldn’t be for several more years -- probably after her dad passes and she can replace her wage income with profits from her inherited portion of the business. She and her SO just purchased a home and I’m sure she needs her current income to make that work.
Her dad was the prior GP and set her up in this position about ten years ago, while maintaining some control of things. Yes, he’s the controlling type. When he wanted her to do some things that would benefit him personally, at her long-term expense, she said no and he went ballistic, letting everyone know that she was incapable of doing her job and lobbying for her ouster. That sent her into an emotional tailspin that we’ve been trying to help her recover from for the past six months. Those efforts seem to have backfired in a sort of paranoid conspiracy fashion. We wanted her to take a couple of months off to get her head on straight, then come back and resume management of the property, but her actions have made that less and less likely as she has refused to cooperate with the rest of the partners. It’s a shame, really.
Did a Walmart run earlier today; they were very low -- or out of -- a lot of grocery items. Which is a bit concerning, as I don’t know why. (At least last year, we sorta knew there were supply chain disruptions.)
Wonder if the FedGov is gonna send JeCovid’s Witnesses door-to-door around here?

It would have been cheaper to have teh Jooish Space Laser Operator contact her.
And moar fun!

One can hope.
“Do you have a moment to talk about Saint Fauci?”
Looks like everybody is keeping busy with a lot of balls in the air. Nothing exciting out here -- just working.
I had to stop that, neighbors complained too much. Prigs!
Forget the neighbors, you should be worried about Elena’s reaction!
She married me with her eyes open.
I bet she doesn’t turn her back on you, either!
