Fatwa Arbuckle: Misanthropologist

Happy Musical Puppeh Wednesday, Wheelizens!

*Thread dog sings half-time, Jolson-esque “big finish”*

“I’d walk a million feet
For one of your treats
My Puuuuuup-a-roni!”

dv8 (and Harper!!1!) --

Hope today’s treatment goes as well as possible all the way ’round.

=====================

Maaaaan…those TX Democrats who fled to D.C. are not doing themselves any favors. So smug, so self-righteous; they come across like petulant teenagers. And they broke out into the most godawful rendition of “We Shall Overcome” I’ve evar heard at some photo op.

What a stupid age we live in.

Good morning, Fatwa -- happy humper day, GN!

Good luck Dv8and Miss Harper -- hope things go well today.

Is Dog the Bounty Hunter still around? Abbot should send him to DC to return his wayward legislators.

Happy happy pupper Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!

I didn’t know they had musical theater for dogs. Probably the invention of some childless millenial.

An article in the local paper bemoaning the increase in COVID-19 cases in the county included this line:

The bulk of recent infections and illnesses have been seen in people who haven’t received a vaccine, OC health officials say.

Well knock me over with a feather with that insightful reportage! Or are you trying to tell us that some of those who fell ill had the vaccine, but it just doesn’t work? Or that numerical concepts like “some” and “all” are beyond your ken?

The article also proclaims that 40% of county residents haven’t been vaccinated!!!11!! What they don’t mention is that when you take away the 450,000 residents who are 12 and younger and who can’t get the vaccine, the percent unvaccinated drops to 26%.

…not to mention the people who already had the virus (most without even knowing it) ((who are already more immune than those who had the vaccine))

Harper’s epidemiologist thinks we probably both have the antibody based on us both getting sick in early Feb 2020, but because of political uncertainties, he didn’t want us to get tested.

Anyway, this whole thing reeks of a “preference cascade.” (look it up; it’s a fascinating rabbit hole.)

Hi, Paddy.

I saw a work email today that numbered phases with Roman numerals -- I wonder if that’s racist and considered symbols of white supremacy?

I’m sure it is. You should bring this to the attention of HR.

I think I may be losing it. Looking out the patio door, I see these squirrels eating these potted geraniums that I grew from seeds. I fling open the door and what do I scream at them? “HOW DARE YOU!!!!” in my best Greta imitation.

WTH did THAT come from?

WTH did THAT come from?

Years of indoctrination.

I hadn’t heard anything about this, but I’ve not been watching much news. Not sure these guys are bad shots or weren’t aiming to hit, just scare off.

Wow. See what happens when their version of Democrat gets control of things.

Seriously though, I’d heard that things were getting pretty bad in South Africa. This is pretty much what you get when socialism inevitably fails.

We managed to get back home this afternoon. We even visited some family on the way back down and ran one errand in town.

I managed to jet through the Big Route and the rest of my work prior to today’s trip in time enough to get a nap before leaving. I did not sleep deeply, but I did get some kind of rest.

After we got home I went straight to sleep. I woke up after a 4 or 5 hours with that feeling that “I’d never be right ever again,” so I forced myself to get up and heat up some chicken noodle soup and make a grilled cheese sandwich. I don’t know why, but such a meal always seems to help a person when they feel a bit under the weather.

I do feel quite normal now, Although I’m sure I’ll need more sleep before the Big Route tomorrow, I feel at least mostly human again.
