Teh Squeaky Wheel
Happy Self-Deceiving Raccoon Friday, GN!
Let us hope the California legal system does not screw this up.
Cheers, Mac; based on previous experience, anything could happen with this cluster-fark.
It’ll be interesting to see when -- and how -- the rest of the project gets completed. There are a lot of competitors who can do a good-enough job with shingles; not so many who will have a full-time project manager on-site. Oh, well…not my problem. (Have a strong feeling the balance of the project will not be easy for the property manager, whom we like; she’s caught in the middle of this mess with a sworn fiduciary responsibility to the HOA.)
I think C.S. Lewis wrote a whole book about HOAs — it was called The Screwtape Letters.
Heh. “The Screwtape Letters” was oddly charming; the same cannot be said for HH-A HOA.
I could see Sven doing this (but not admitting it).
Me too, Mac…me too.
There’s no reason for the bonding company adjuster to do anything but hold firm; this is not a bond-related issue. All the work was completed, done to code and to industry best practices (unlike their previous two roofs).
Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa!
I see that LA is going back to face-diaper mandates. Apparently there’s been an uptick in hospitalizations for COVID-19 and the only tool the health department has in its toolbox is one that has been proven not to work.
“You vill put on ze mask und you vill enchoy it…für Ihre Sicherheit, nicht wahr?”
*Clicks heels in the Prussian manner*
While it may not be of much interest to non-musicians, this is an excellent doc on the enormous influence of the Fender Rhodes piano. (Also very sad, as so many of the players they interviewed are no longer with us.)
Hi, Paddy, and Fatwa -- happy Friday, GN!
Regarding today’s thread pic. Coons live in the moment. Like a roulette wheel, coons have no memory. Therefore, unlike cats, they hold no grudges either.
It will be interesting to see how many comply with LA’s new orders, how long they will last, and if they go further as this plays out. Surprisingly, I haven’t heard anything about increases in hospital capacity that could have been increased over the last 18 months in preparation for something like this.
Said good-bye to our neighbors this morning. Sad.
Huh. Today, the govt and media are all in on “misinformation is killing people” whereas they are still cool with “hands up, don’t shoot” and that body count.
