Once again. Good Morning and Goodnight.

I’m starting to feel a bit more caught up on rest. It was a tough week last week.

Doing the extra 450 papers in the mail — which God willing, will only be for a couple of weeks — will result in a bigger paycheck. so there’s that……….

I haven’t been sleeping well either this whole year. Not sure what is up with that. Hope you continue to get more rest, Dv8.

“Here I come to save Tuesday…”

G’day, GN.

Heya, dv8; glad you’re feeling better-rested and hope you’ll be even more “caught up” by the time your larger paycheck is deposited. 🙂

Started watching Sven’s “Queensryche analysis” video and decided to wait until I could view it on my desktop with better speakers so I can really hear what the vocal coach is commenting on.

Mac --

I’ll also be mindful of your comments re her language. FWIW, FTR sometimes expresses herself in a way which doesn’t gibe with her education / vocabulary; don’t know if it’s a generational phenomenon, as I’m also prone to using vulgarity despite having a decent vocabulary. (It’s also possible that some of what you noticed may be an attempt to avoid musical jargon; won’t know until I watch the whole thing.)

I’ve oft been amused that -- similar to many groups with specialized knowledge -- musicians can have a meaningful discussion which sounds like gobbledygook to non-musicians; using phrases like “tritone substitution on the secondary dominant”.

Huh?!? (I know some pretty accomplished musicians who would also look askance at that phrase, even though they’ve actually used that particular technique but haven’t formally studied “music theory”.

I’d wager that hearing you and another accomplished machinist discussing your craft would be a great puzzlement to me. (I barely know what “swarf” means.) 🙂

Much carp to do; BBL.

Good morning, Fatwa -- it would be amusing if what finally takes down Fauci is not his lies, arrogance, or destruction of America based on bullshit science, but that he sanctioned medical testing on dogs. Kind of like how out here in CA Newsom’s biggest sin was eating in a restaurant without a mask.

Glad you enjoyed the video, Mac. Some thoughts.

I have a certain fondness for the song Eyes of a Stranger as it’s one of the few songs that stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it. In fact, although I don’t know the exact date, I do know exactly where I was and what I was doing.

I’ve grown leery of the “First Time Hearing” reaction videos. How many are honest and how many are just click bait things. Despite what I accept as Zharoff’s honest and enthusiastic responses and vocal insights, and with this song she’s enthusiastic to the point of orgasm, she’s still selling a product – her vocal coaching skills and site subscriptions. I don’t know how much of that enters into the production of these videos or if it matters.

There’s one video where she talks about going to her first metal fest and she’s stressing about what to wear and what questions to ask and how her hair should look. She presents herself as being completely out of her depth and unsure how to act in this new “country” of heavy metal music. In terms of her vocabulary when reviewing Eyes of a Stranger, if it comes across as limited it might just be that she’s unsure of her audience and how much they know.

All of her videos appear to be positive reviews – I’d love to have her do one where, no, this song sucks – this guy can’t sing and here’s why.

Having been on both sides of the video production… thingy… I’ll say that a lot goes on before during and after recording. You do some stuff the way you do, BECAUSE you are recording.

This is why when your favorite video maker does a live stream, it’s usually much more dull. (but definitely much more genuine)

Pewdiepie points this out, actually, When he talks about “apology videos.” A person is always seen turning the camera on and then turning it off. I always see Pewds, in my mind yelling: “You always edit that out, and you’re choosing to leave it in.”

Very few people come across the same way on a recording as they do live. About the only guy I know who can is StyxHexenHammer666

https://rumble.com/Styxhexenhammer666

In case you’re interested. (everyone should be watching Styx, anyway) His political analysis is unmatched.

Although, I think his live streams are only on youtube. He does only one each week. His videos though, are never edited. I have never seen a jump cut in any of his videos. He’s just good at putting his thoughts together,

He does a couple of videos on all his platforms, but only a couple go to YouTube. I believe his live streams are on Odysee and youtube only.

.um…. what was I taking about?……?……?…….

Happy Powerful Rodent Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning/night, dv8 (and Harper!), Fatwa, and Sven!

dv8 -- glad you’re getting caught up on rest.

Sven -- as long as Fauci gets taken down, I don’t care what the proximal cause is.
