Well. Last night was only a few hours of catchup and cleaning up some stuff. Recycling and doing the few omitted stops on the Big Route.

Only about 4 hours.

Next week will probably be more of the same unless our sick driver is ready to do her route again.

Bat Rave…na na na na na na na na…

Happy Caturday, GN!

dv8 --

Glad you were able to tidy-up the loose ends from your work week.

I’ve still got some JimCo carp which didn’t get done, thanks to having to waste a bunch of time dealing with a few loudmouth condo owners’ BS. Once again, I feel like I’m gettin’ too old -- and misanthropic -- for this shit.

Feh.

I bought a bag o’ assorted Halloween candy as part of last week’s Walmart run which contains -- among other goodies -- some Twix miniatures. And then Mars, Inc. decides to release this bit of cringe-worthy creepiness:

Who knew America really needed woke candy branding?

If only I knew some bad words…

That commercial is more than a little disturbing -- and not in a fun Halloween sort of way.

Ratioed. And comments are turned off. Comment on Dissenter, if you want.

Happy Baturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!), and Fatwa!

dv8 -- glad you didn’t have to work too long last night. I hope your cow-worker can return to work soon.

Fatwa -- sorry about the additional bs you’re having to deal with.

Very cool looking bats.

Good evening, Fatwa, Paddy, and Dv8.

Mrs Sven went to the gun store with her brother and while there thought to pick up some ammunition. I thought there was a one-time background check and then a $1 fee every time you buy afterwards. Nope, not unless you’ve recently purchased a firearm. If you haven’t, then it’s $19 each time you buy ammo.

Basic Ammunition Eligibility Check – $19 – can take several days. This is for people who are not in the Automated Firearm System. Unfortunately, using this option will not get you entered into the AFS, so until you purchase or register a gun to get in the AFS, you have to pay the $19 every time you buy ammunition.

The guy behind the counter said that he’s had people buy the cheapest gun they have to get into the system because it saves them ammunition money in long run.

Holy carp! I thought the same as you, Sven. $19 plus several days each time you want to purchase ammo? Meanwhile, it has done nothing to lessen “gun violence”.

It’s a great way of getting more people to register their firearms with the state, even when not otherwise obligated to do so.

This is why I was against “instant check.”
