Teh Squeaky Wheel
English Bull Terrierist Monday greetin’s, Wheelizens.
Paddy’s rundown on HOA’s was quite good (thank you, sir!) and cogent.
With only a single exception, every HOA we’ve worked on in my nearly 30 years with JimCo has had roofs considered as a “common area”. As such, mitigating interior damage which occurs from leaks -- assuming the leaking section was not under a warranty -- is on the HOA, as they “own” the roof.
The Russkis from last week seem to be clumsily attempting to make a case that their ceiling stains occurred after we installed their new roof last year. (Narrator: “It didn’t.”)
Hopefully, this situation will not turn into a three-way pissing match between the owners, the HOA and JimCo. But we have to spend a lot of time, effort and money to investigate and fight this crap.
Quoth Mac: Bah!
Busy week, up ahead for us. What with Libertarian Marc coming to visit. We Spent this evening cleaning or straightening up the projects, at least. Harper insisted that it wasn’t quite as bad as I thought, and I guess she was right, as usual.
And I’m off TOR again! So I can see the thread pic without resorting to trickery.
I guess it’s goodnight for now.
Happy Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning/night dv8 (and Harper!), and Fatwa!
I’m glad things aren’t as need of attention at your home as you think they are. Trust Harper.
Fatwa -- there always seem to be those sorts of people who want to screw others out of things.
Good morning, Fatwa, Dv8, and Paddy.
Thanks for the HOA information, Paddy -- having never lived under one, I find it confusing as to who is responsible for what.
Quite windy here today, but so far no SoCal Edison notices of imminent power shutoffs.
HOAs = you love government so much that you voluntarily submit to another layer of it.
