Good morning, Fatwa, dv8 (and Harper!), and Sven!
It’s been a busy morning, dealing with parents who are upset with other people, cow-workers who don’t understand why their boss is complaining about their work quality, and vendors who suddenly decide they don’t want to honor their contract to provide services to some children.
Slow work day as Monday is a holiday -- no one is really working. Watching multiple live streams out of Ottawa. What strikes me about the protesters is that they are motivated by love of country -- they ain’t fighting for a cause or some other bullshit or some imaginary slight. Canada and what it means to be Canadian. That’s it.
You look at these men and women -- they ain’t even fighting -- they just aren’t moving and these are guys that you can tell are not unaccustomed to fighting. They aren’t cussing out the cops or throwing shit at them -- their chants to the police are mostly “We love you” or “Stand with us” and every half hour or so they sing Oh Canada. When they are arrested, they offer no resistance.
Of course, this may all change once the police get serious with tear gas or clubs.
