Good-premedievalish-morning, GN, with some slightly suspect Latin-- but it’s clear enough. No one was more surprised than me to find how funny I found that movie.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Dear Harper, and dv8!
Harper -- thank you for your kind words and prayers. I just needed to vent. There are only 49 days of school left until the end of the year. I can make it through that. I know I’m going to lose my person who works with all of our contract agencies and also schedules all the special education meetings, but I think I’ve convinced her that I can help her make it through this year, as well.
dv8 -- Pulp Fiction came out in 1994 -- so 28 years old. Hard to believe.
Tarantino has done some really good movies and some that i find unwatchable. Bruce Willis is great in Pulp Fiction.
Speaking of movies, I watched Dune last night.I first read the book maybe 40 years ago and probably read it a couple of times afterwards. It’s a great story that the newest movie version complements well, but if I hadn’t already known the plot and the characters would it have been good? I don’t think so. Great special effects, but those don’t do much for me.
A movie that I shouldn’t like, given what a crappy company they are, but that I really do is The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
Another old friend passed away last night -- his brother called yesterday and let me know. Not much of a surprise as his health had been really poor for years and another one where it’s more of a blessing that he didn’t linger much longer. Still, I’d known all three brothers since 1977 and now there’s just one left.
That James McMurtry line from his song Just Us Kids about not as many as we used to be rings more true every year.
People you care about passing away. It started for me with Harper’s Dad. Although I lost one friend to suicide in the early 90s, he might have been the first; I’m not sure, but I think so.
Sven, only one brother out of three left…for you and the remaining brother it must feel like a strange kind of missing man formation. It’s such a loss in the pattern of your life. I’m very sorry for your loss, my friend.
Back atcha, Gentle Mac.

Or thereabouts?

I like most of QT’s movies. he really is an excellent director.

I’m very sorry for your loss, Sven. Even though we are getting older, it’s still hard to deal with the loss of a friend, even when it is a blessing.
Sleep is all messed up due to an appointment on Wednesday.
I’m going to take a bit of a nap before work tonight.
Wish me luck.
Good luck, dv8!
Oops, I probably shouldn’t have included that exclamation point -- you might have been sleeping.
