Arbitrator rankings submitted after call with Mr. Attorney yesterday. Jim and I had decided to rank them by reviewing resumés without discussing them, then compare notes; our rankings were significantly similar. So I think that was good, as we have very different thought processes.
Lawbaw informed us that one of our mutual top picks was a former ambulance chaser who -- in his opinion -- had no business serving as an arbitrator, particularly for a case like ours. He was struck from our list, along with Jim’s and my bottom pick.
Re lawsuit (against Jim personally) which he was served with on Sunday: it’s from a collection agency masquerading as a lawfirm. Attorney characterized them as “the catfish you throw back”; IOW bottom feeders even among bottom feeders.
Jim will be delivering related paperwork to HOA today which will 1) mightily piss them off, and 2) assuming JimCo prevails in arbitration, will allow us to add amount Jim settles for with scumbag firm (which he must do, as it’s way cheaper than going to court in Ventura Cty. Superior Court) to be added to our damages.

I hate it when a kitteh gets a slow leak like that. You don’t want to be constantly checking their pressure, so you end up waiting until they’re too far gone to move. Re-inflation them is no fun, either.
Fatwa -- that’s ridiculous that Jim has to settle with the scumbag collection agency when there’s been no finding of fault.

THE PRESIDENT: We have to choose — I mean, look, one of the reasons why I voted against a number of the members of the Court: They refuse to acknowledge that there’s a 9th Amendment. They refuse to acknowledge there’s a right to privacy.
The Ninth Amendment:
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
The “right of privacy” is right there. I’ve never bought that argument and don’t today.
I can buy the argument that we retain a right to privacy, as well as a host of other rights, but that doesn’t mean that the right to an abortion is one of those rights, or that there is any connection between a right to privacy and a right to an abortion.
Abortion is a difficult topic and not one that’s not fit for humor, but the leftist histrionic response to this and damn near everything else that they don’t like is amusing. And sad. But not one that I have empathy for.
