Was just listening to Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water. The line “Frank Zappa and the Mothers, were at the best place around…” made me wonder if nowadays it would be Frank Zappa and Birthing Persons of Invention.
Watched a really good movie last night: Ambulance. It’s about a bank robbery gone bad and the robbers eluding police in a hijacked ambulance that has a shot cop in it. Good character development, good dialogue, and great chase scenes.
BK update: Not a great day today, all things considered. Hopefully better either later or by tomorrow.

If FZ were still alive, he’d be having a field day as both a pundit and mocking attempts to “cancel” him. (That latter’s a given in today’s political climate.)
He’d probably have also released several multi-CD sets which included songs about how absolutely farked our country has become.
Went to bed early last night, so woke up in plenty of time. Had breakfast at Basha’s. Their crappy steam table eggs suck, so instead I get a large chicken strip or two and a biscuit and cover them with country gravy and get a handful of bacon and sausage.
That kind of breakfast cries out for coffee, but I had diet coke instead.
We won’t know for a long time whether Newsom’s tweak-the-right political gambit will pay off ultimately. But all indications are that when it comes to playing the fool, that’s a job Gavin Newsom is uniquely well suited for.

Glad you were able to make it to church. It sounds like you made an excellent breakfast out of what was available.
Yesterday I made ratatouille for the first time. I was trying to duplicate a dish I had at a restaurant several weeks ago. It was close, but not quite there. I’ll make a couple of tweaks next time and see if I can achieve a greater depth of flavor. Meanwhile, I’ve got some leftovers that should be even better after sitting for a day or two (like a good stew).

Just watched that recently. Elena had seen an ad for it and likes the leading lady. We both liked it, good action and interesting characters.
We just watched Goodbye Christopher Robin last night and we both enjoyed it more than we expected. Good movie and good performances by several actors.
Another thing I liked, with the exception of the lead SIS guy, is that I didn’t recognize any of the actors.
