Teh Squeaky Wheel
Happy “Goal-Oriented Kitteh” Thursday, GN!
BK update: “Not so good” this morning.
HH-A update: Per emails with attorney yesterday, I need to finish the timeline I started a few months ago and which he told me to quit working on. (I’d already gotten through September of last year, so the bulk of it’s already completed. But it really sucks having to go through the minutiae of all the bullshit they’ve done to us…)
Still don’t have a firm mediation date; I’d guess early next month.
Hi, Fatwa -- sorry to hear Brenda isn’t doing too well -- hope she moves towards “OK” as the day progresses.
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Fatwa, and Sven!
Fatwa -- prayers and good thoughts for both Brenda and you as you go through this struggle.
Was woken up a little after 2:00 am by a phone call from the medical alert service my MiL uses. She had pressed the button on it, but didn’t respond when contacted her through the device, so EMS was called. We quickly got dressed and called my SiL who lives a few blocks away. My MiL was not responding to phone calls, so she was going to go over to her house, then call and let us know what was going on. Thankfully it was a false alarm. We’ll find out more details today, but Mrs. Paddy and I are now both feeling like we only got a couple of hours of sleep.
That’s a stressful night, Paddy -- glad it was a false alarm.
Ditto. Glad it was a false alarm. I have been wondering if they still had those services since everyone is carrying a smartphone these days.
There must be some advancement in the technology since the “help, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” commercials.
There has been great improvement in the technology. You can get a pendant or a device you wear on your wrist. They come with fall-sensing technology, so you don’t have to press a button. They also connect to the cellular network, so they work away from your home and provide GPS location service.
Hi everyone. Just waking up and getting ready for the Big Route tonight. I managed to stay up late enough on Wednesday so that I slept the appropriate amount of time and got up at the right time also.
I’m trying to find a better job, but I suck at that process.
Hi dv8 (and Harper!)!
Looking for work is never fun. Looking for work when you aren’t sure what you want to do/are qualified to do is even less so. It’s a process, so treat it like one. Figure out the process flow, get and stay organized with your documents -- resumes, cover letters, etc. -- and actively work the process on a daily basis.
Thanks for the advice. I do lack organization… So that’s what I struggle with most of the time.
I totally get you there! Just because I know how something should be done, doesn’t mean I’m able to do it myself!
I’ve been using our grill more and more lately. I guess I’ve finally gotten over the hump of understanding how it works.
I dry brined some chicken thighs with bone in. This time I used Cavenders Greek seasoning. It was pretty good yesterday
After dinner, I took the meat off the bones and this time I put the bones and skin in a pot with a few aromatics and let it cook overnight. I just cut the softened bones in half and I guess I’ll let them cook that way until I go to work tonight. I’ll strain it and see if it sets up. That should be some pretty decent bone broth. We’ll see.
I got some edemame noodles from amazon (very high protein) for when I don’t want to make my own noodles, but I think I’ll have time to make my own today. So we’ll se how that goes.
Sounds boring, but I like to cook, so………. I cook…
