I’m surprised that JimCo is only seeing a 15% increase in cost of materials. At the family apartments, we’ve been replacing heat pumps as they go out with larger units. It just makes sense in that heat. Anyway, we had a contract with a major distributor and that contract is going to expire in a few weeks. They’ve already told us that prices will go up significantly, but they haven’t said by how much. We’ve been trying to buy all the units the distributor has, but their supply is limited and they want to set aside a few units for other customers. I hope everyone is enjoying the lack of mean tweets.
I was stuck as to what to make for dinner tonight -- the larder is low on stuff but I didn’t feel like a grocery run. Started out just with pasta with garlic and oil. Then in the sauce, I added some jarred sliced jalapeno peppers. Hmmm. Added a bag of spinach and cooked that all up. A cup of cheap white wine, then a can of sliced olives and a cup of the pasta water. It came out OK.
