Happy Saturday, boys.

Praying for an Okay day for Brenda.

That sucks, Mac, about the high prices of both meds and power. The uncertainty of where this country is going and how govt’s stupidity will affect us is what makes me thankful to still be working.

Good on you, Dv8, getting the bone broth done and the microwave installed.

Hope the new school year goes well for you, Paddy.

Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

It’s Owloween already? Where does the time go?

Sven -- thanks for the well wishes. I think it’s going to be a good year, but at the same time I think it’s going to be a challenge for some people, as they take on responsibilities that they aren’t ready for. As I move away from special education, our vice principal was supposed to take on coding the invoices we receive from outside service providers, before sending them on to accounts payable. She began that task this summer and at our retreat this week our CFO asked me if I’d take that task back, along with a few other finance-related tasks. It seems our VP wasn’t quite up to the task.

Still on TOR.

We managed to both catch DuckHK on Rumble this morning!!

It was a fun time. Someone coined the term “Ducklings” for us (his “crew”) and I’m going to help to make that stick. It’s great!

https://rumble.com/user/DuckHK

live streams every Saturday at 11:30as Eastern (that’s 8:30am for us)

Pretty fun hour, if I do say so.

My bone broth has very little collagen, as per my emergency salt dump about one day in. Still very flavorful, so I’m just going to add Gelatin when I prepare it. 1 packet per cup does the trick. Fat content could also be highter, but once again, the salt dump is mostly responsible for that. I feel like my final addition of 8 chicken thigh bones helped out a lot, although it was pretty good before that time.

I managed to get the backyard back in shape again!!!!

That is a big deal it was pretty torn up due to the back canopy construction project. It’s taken me a long time of doing a little of this and that to get it back to a livable level.

Fired up the grill last night and made some cheap hotdogs I had in the freezer. They’re so elevated by cooking on the grill, you can hardly tell how cheap they are when you do that.

Fired up the grill this morning and made patty melts. Not entirely on the grill. Just grilled the burgers and used the George Foreman grill to do the melting/toasting.

The new microwave is great! we got the house cleaned up pretty well from the construction mess, and it’s a big hit with Harper.

Even though its outside dimensions are exactly the same as the old one, its inside dimensions are much larger than the old one, so, even though it’s in the same position, over the stove, Harper can see into it much better. So she really likes it. It’s of course, much higher wattage than our little one.

I put the little one on “next door” to sell. I paid $39.99 for it, but it now retails for $69.99 at Walmart, so I put it up for $30. But that may be a little steep for something like that, so I’ll have to drop my price if it doesn’t sell in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, that’ll get us some more counter space.

by the way, the installation was pretty straight forward.

I just need to get some expandable foam or something to fill the holes left over from the old Microwave.

Hi dv8 (and Harper!)!

It sounds like you’ve been busy!
I did the grocery shopping and a few minor chores, but have been mostly just relaxing. I need to work on turning my office into more of an office and less of a bedroom. Mrs. Paddy has framed some of her old artwork and some other things we have. The next step is arranging everything and hanging them.
