Not a good sign -- 5-6 helicopters buzzing past the house heading east and circling two miles from us -- no sign of smoke tho.
It’s on our side of Rocky Peak -- 118 freeway is at a standstill. It’s either a car went over the side and into the canyon or a small fire. Luckily no wind. Fires starting there have whipped down the Pass to us in less than 10 minutes.
Yeah, whatever it was, they took care of it quickly. I have the feeling that we’ll get through the next week OK, but that this heatwave is laying the groundwork for a miserable October-November-Santa Ana period. But maybe that’s just my natural pessimism bleeding through.

The only fire that’s showing on Inciweb (inciweb.nwcg.gov) that would possibly be affecting you is the Route fire.
