Yes, the always helpful cats.

Good morning, GN -- happy mid-week.

Yum…ratatouille for lunch!

Hi, SemiFascist Sven!

BK Update: Not so great this morning (which was pretty much expected). We remain extremely appreciative of your prayers and good thoughts.

HH-A Update: Their counsel was given a deadline of 09/20 to furnish their availability for the pre-arbitration conference. Their response was to state they would respond by the end of business on 09/22.

Our attorney asked, “9/22 of what year?”

What a huge surprise; additional stalling, as predicted. I anticipate there will be more. Miserable, venal bastards…

Don’t know the reason for the weird bolding and spacing in my previous comment.

Happy Helpful-kitteh Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Fatwa!

I guess Mac is trying to prove that cats can be as helpful as ‘coons.

Fatwa -- you’re attorney had the correct response, more’s the pity. I hope there’s something the AAA can do if HH-A tries to drag things out.

Good morning, Fatwa, and Paddy.

Fatwa: what can you/JimCo do to prevent this type of incident from occurring in the future?
Paddy: Mac can try, but saying so doesn’t make it so.

I found a new eye drop and ointment, Ivizia, that was recommended by an ophthalmologist that I watch online regularly, and so far it’s been effective. Apparently, it’s been available in Europe for several years, but just made available here a couple of months ago. I am cautiously optimistic.

That’s great news, Sven! I hope it works out for you.

Drive-by:

Hey, Paddy!

Sven --

I really hope those new eye meds do the trick for you.

Fatwa: what can you/JimCo do to prevent this type of incident from occurring in the future?

Nothing, really…except never work again. CA is an extremely property-owner-friendly state wherein disputes with building trades are concerned; L.A. County doubly-so.

Don’t know precisely what AAA can do; thus far, they’ve been as useful as teats on a bull.

Nothing you can add to the contract?

There’s no way to eliminate sue-happy or extortion-happy assholes via contract, AFAIK.

The HH-A shitheads are currently in multiple breaches of our existing contract with them and have been for nearly two years. If you’re dealing with dishonorable scoundrels, a contract effectively doesn’t mean shit.

Unless you also have a $100K+ lawsuit slush fund. Which, sadly, JimCo does not.
