Thanks, Mac. JimCo’s into month fifteen since HH-A tried to shake us down, so it’s long-ago become part of the background irritation of every day life. (Except when the “murderous rage” flares up.). 👿
I’m rather disappointed this mess has dragged on as long as it has and fully expect it’ll continue into 2023. (OTOH, 2% monthly compounded interest on the unpaid balance sure does add up; it’s now over $300 a month.)
Bummer about the power supply on Mac’s backup ‘puter and hope the motherboard’s intact
Brenda’s asleep right now; hope she’s feeling somewhat better than last night when she awakens. (I’d expect that, based on experience; “trust teh cycle”.)
At least she gets a break in her treatments. Next step is imaging on 10/31, followed by surgery (hopefully as an outpatient) on 11/03.

I don’t know if the below is true, because I desperately want it to be. It inspired BK and I to laugh ourselves silly singing profoundly vulgar parodies of “Wizard of Oz” songs -- in Munchkin voices -- last night, which was a yuuuuge goodness. 😉

I always thought Columbus Day was just created to celebrate Christopher Columbus and his “discovery” of America. Apparently not. It was a sop thrown to Italy because of this:
On March 14, 1891, eleven Italians were lynched in New Orleans. It was the largest mass lynching in the American South. It took place the day after nine of the men had been acquitted in the trial of the murder of the New Orleans police chief David Hennessy. (Two of the lynching victims were not on trial for any crime.) Newspapers, after the deed, reported with delight that “a wild mob numbered by the thousands avenge[d] the murder of Chief Hennessy,” informing the public that “the wretched Sicilian band [had been] butchered.
Although I question the account, as I’ve been told repeatedly that only blacks were lynched in America.
