Thank you all for the good thoughts. The procedure went well and she has not had the side effects she had last time, so all is well. Her turn to drive me on Monday. The dentist was going to pull this tooth Monday for about $200.00, now it will be a little under $4,000.00. Pffftttt!!!
Not really complaining. The $200. was for a simple extraction under local. The infection meant the surgeon was needed and I agreed to an implant as it will be under general. I was just going to leave the hole but I am already missing the same tooth on the other side and it is not a good situation for a bridge. The price was over 5 grand but they discounted it as I have no insurance, so they get paid up front. I went over 20 years without seeing a dentist and my teeth were a disaster, until I had a lot of work done about 8 years ago. It took a while to get used to having teeth again, so I should probably protect what I have. It is cheaper than when Elena got an implant some years ago.
