I got into a car accident on the way to work Monday night
Yes it was my fault. I left the dome light on when I first got into the car. Looking for something. This is what happens when you are absent minded. Anyway, I was not aware that I was essentiallly driving blind to the right and especially the left, and hit someone going into a traffic circle. I always feared it would happen someday.
The unrelated good news:
I found the leak in the refrigerator and fixed it myself, so … one appliance repair down. Still can’t use the dishwasher until it’s fixed, taking care of the house and Harper and working, it really becomes pretty miserable not to have a dishwasher. I got a guy coming in January, who knows how long it will take after that to actually get it fixed.
This makes me think that The Great Reset will waste more energy than it saves. People will just waste more time and effort and resources, Like… I’m considering just buying another dishwasher because it would be faster than getting it fixed.
I’m really fast at doing the dishes, as I got a lot of practice in my early 20s, but it’s still one chore too many. Sounds like a first world problem, I know, but I really am very weary.
11.5K followers on Twitter. I got my blue check mark : ) after about a week of subscibing to Elon’s new service. I basically looked at subscriptions I was paying for that I didn’t need anymore and eliminated over $20 per month’s worth; so, in a sense, my desire to have Twitter Blue caused me to actually save money instead of spending it.
Still slightly shadowbanned, or else I’d have closer to 15K by now at the rate I was going before. I hope I can make something of it or use it to springboard something else. I dunno… I have a lot of ideas, but very little energy to implement them.
That, in essence is why you’ll hear me float various ideas and then never do anything about them.
I remember when I was 20 I would have jumped all over some of these things, but now… I just don’t know if it will happen.
There’re also probably equal measures of apathy and a sense that some measure of misery is what I actually deserve.
I don’t have collision on my current car; it’s still driveable. I think I’ll order the body parts from Rock Auto and replace them myself,
All the lights still work, but I need a new headlight cover and a couple of other body parts are bent and/or shattered, if they’re plastic.
I guess I can fix everything but the paint for pretty cheap. I dunno. I felt I couldn’t afford full coverage on such a new vehicle when I got it, so I just went with regular liability.
Strangely, the poor doordash guy I hit hasn’t called my insurance company yet, or I would have heard something already, I think. I’m not sure what is going on there.
