Today is when the floats undergo a radical transformation in under 24 hours. As the final decorations are placed on what one thinks of the body of the float, teams of florists install floral artwork all over the float, terminating with volunteers punching hundreds of roses and other flowers, each in its own vial, into the foam that covers the float.
A good volume of rain falling and more expected out here today. About this time, I’d be telling Fatwa to expect more of that filthy lucre to be coming his way.
