Good morning, GN. A break in the rain down here. Kernville, north of Bakersfield, is getting hammered -- we’ve rafted a few times on the Kern River.

Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

I’d appreciate prayers for my BiL, John. He had a tooth extracted earlier this week, developed a raging infection, and had to have emergency surgery last night. The surgery went well, but the surgeon said it was the worst he’d ever seen.

Prayers forthcoming. Funny when those routine simple things turn into something quite a bit more. Hope he’s doing better today.

Thanks, Sven. He is doing better today, but they will keep him in the hospital for a while to make sure the infection is under control.

When he went into surgery, the surgeon said it was 50/50 whether he’d pull through, or not.

Well… According to my FitBit, after I got home from work on Friday Morning, I slept 18 hours.

I got up in time for DuckHK and Harper got up too.

I made breakfast. I made a french omlet, Julia Child style. I had a bit of left over Irish Oatmeal, and made waffles out of that with some milk, egg, protein flour and banking soda. Surprisingly good.

Also made a whole pack of bacon using Fatwa’s oven method. Generally my favorite way to make bacon now.

We’re both still awake, so we’re gong to watch some more of “Pie in the Sky.”

That’s a lot of shut eye, DDv8 -- what is Pie in the Sky?

yup

Pie in the Sky
is an old British TV series. A police detective, semi retired, opens a restaurant and helps the police solve crimes every so often.

So the episodes deal with food and crime both, usually. Sort of light-hearted character driven kind of stories.

if you have amazon prime, you can watch some episodes, I think, with a free trial of britbox or maybe acorn, I can’t remember.
