My department is getting a new VP next month. Don’t know anything about “him” but the two people with the same name that I found using the google, both have pronouns in their bio. One is “he/him” and the other is “they/them.”
Maybe your new VP alternates pronouns, depending on how he/they/him/them is feeling at the moment. It would probably be best not to ask them how often they need to change their gender fluid for best performance.
