I don’t know if it’s a coup to get firsties when it’s only four in the morning…

Have a jolly day, my friends, and be on the alert for davening bears. Or is that bear leading a headbanger choir? I must think on this.

Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning (night), Harper!!!1!!eleventy!!

That bear has done a great job of training those children!

I’ve got an appointment with the DMV this morning to renew my driver’s license and get a federally-compliant REAL ID. We’ll see how it goes.

How’d the DMV go, Paddy?

Hi Sven!

The DMV went much better than expected. I had a 10:40 appointment and entered the appointment line at 10:30. 45 minutes later I reached the front of the line and was put in the system and assigned a number (go sit between windows 1 and 3). 15 minutes later, my number was called. 5 minutes later my application had been processed, my eye test conducted, and my photo taken. Of course I had completed the application online and uploaded all of my documents and made my payment a couple of weeks ago.

Heard one of the creepiest things ever this morning around 3:00AM. Coyotes are the norm around here and hearing them howling and yipping is common. This one tho, a single coyote, woke me up with three laughing sounds followed by a howl. The laughs were unbelievably odd -- sounded human, kind of like a “heh heh” sound but real creepy -- the hairs on my arms rose up. He repeated the same pattern maybe 10 times with about 15 seconds in between. Out on the balcony listening, I figured it was maybe 200 yards or so down and east of me.

I’ve heard it once before -- maybe a few weeks back. It sounded, well, evil.
