Tomorrow will be Jack Tatum’s “birthday.” It was seven years ago that he showed up on our back porch -- lost, scared, and hungry. Even tho he’s a cat, he’s been a good boy and a blessing…not that I would tell him that.
Mrs. Paddy and I just got back from my cousin’s remembrance of life. It went about as well as it could, with most of it going very well. Mrs. Paddy did an excellent job with the service and she thought my eulogy was good. My aunt told us several weeks ago that my brother wanted to speak, so when I was done with the eulogy, I said that my brother wanted to say a few words. He looked a bit surprised, then got up and spoke for a few minutes, making it mostly about himself. My aunt and uncle appreciated the service, which is what matters.
The look in the cat’s eyes says payback.

Happy Disappointed Feline Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Sven -- you and Mrs. Sven have given Jack Tatum a good life and a good home.

Good job, Paddy.
I have no story to tell.
It’s all out of context.
I’m in a time warp.
