Good morning -- windy here today -- noise from stuff banging, not the neighbors, got me up early.

Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

Boy, is it windy here, today! The string lights on our patio came down. I checked them out and the turnbuckle that attaches to the house slipped off (hook and eye). That’s not bad, although it’s going to be a pain to get the cable re-attached. I need another foot of slack to make that task easy, but that’s a lot of slack to take up with two turnbuckles.

On further inspection, the two cables (I had to splice in a second cable when I changed the anchoring points) have come apart. They were connected via an eye-to-eye splice. The end of one cable looks fine. I’ll have to wait until Saturday to inspect the other end, but from a distance it looks fine, as well.

Another bright idea out of CA -- increase utility costs based on your income.

The average electric bill in California is $261 per month. Here is what the proposed tier rate plan by Pacific Gas, San Diego Gas and Electric, and Southern California Edison would look like: Households earning $28,000-to-$69,000 per year would pay an extra $20-to-$34 per month. Those who earn $69,000-to-$180,000 per year would be charged an extra $51-to-$73 monthly surcharge. Lastly, those earning over $180,000 per year would pay $85-to-$128 per month.

Working late again. Sucks, but it’s a paycheck. Tomorrow the Fani Willis disqualification from the Trump+ election interference case in Georgia is supposed to be out. My bet is on the judge being a squish and splitting the baby in some fashion. Politically, it’s a win for Trump either way, but will he gain or lose votes? Hard to say. And legally, he and the dozen other defendants are likely to remain in hot water.
