Happy “morning face” Monday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

Another busy morning, trying to organize my classes, emails, etc.

I was going to turn the page at work beginning today -- new and better attitude. That lasted about two hours -- my boss is an idiot and an asshole. I have meetings with him later today and have fortified myself with alcohol.

Good thing you’re working from home.

Good luck with the meetings.

Meeting postponed until tomorrow, although I made some points in another one. I still have a job, but I’m not 1) happy, and 2) sure how long it will last. So it goes.

Good news/bad news for Jack Tatum. He had his most extensive medical checkup last week and we talked to the vet today about most of the results -- still waiting on x-rays. The bad news is he has feline aids -- no he’s not gay altho I will start referring to him as “Mrs Sven’s gay cat” -- it’s something called FIV: Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Good news is his white blood cell count is fine, he’s put on weight over the last year -- up to 14 pounds -- and altho somewhat lethargic the last three months, he shows no other symptoms of FIV. All other blood work came back fine. No parasites.

He does have leg /lower body tremors and that’s the x-ray part of this -- to see if there’s something skeletal wrong.

For a cat, he’s not half bad and we’ll do what we can for him. After eight years, he’s grown on me a little bit even tho he’s taken to hissing at me from time to time for no good reason. I think he senses the blacker parts of my soul rising to the surface. Must work on that.

The good news is that with treatment, he can live many more years.
