So I have a question for all you guys that I left on yesterday’s thread.
And a corollary to it would be this: How do you quantify your own level of informedness?
I ask this because I feel as though I am more informed now than I was a mere 10 years ago. Most of that is because I have expanded my sources for keeping informed.
And in general, it appears to me that you guys are more informed now as well.
I don’t know quite how to quantify my own level of knowledge of such things nor my amount of increase. But I feel like I have access to a lot more sources now than I used to. And am always seeking out new ones.
When I visited my mom, she told me “all Trump’s business went bankrupt.” It’s strange, because she was the one who taught me to be skeptical of the media. Anyway… I explained to her that he had over a hundred businesses of which a few declared 7 or 11 bankruptcy.
Question: For those who only watch the Legacy Media, Do those people know about the US-AID funding legacy and other leftist media?
In my case, I rarely watch/read legacy media. In terms of the reports coming out about USAID, I get my information primarily from conservative/right-leaning sites and links. My take on Politico-Pro is that it isn’t any more scandalous/corrupt than what goes on in every local/state/federal govt agency.
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation! Now with moar danger ‘coons!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!), and Sven!
Sven -- thanks for the link. Nuance is something that has been sadly missing from news reporting for a long time. Even more unfortunate is that most people I’ve talked with over the years aren’t interested in nuance. They want to feel comfortable as a member of “their” team.
dv8 -- I feel that I am more informed now, than in the past. I used to listen to a lot of talk radio, which trended right, but learned over the years that some were more GOPe than conservative. When discussing issues with my left-leaning friends, I find that most know only the leftist talking points and have never heard an opposing view.

Good morning, Dv8.
What was your mother’s response to that?
I’m not sure if she believed me.
