It’s going to be a chilly next few days, with rain starting tomorrow morning. I’m sure there will be some problems in the burn areas. Will Trump’s EPA be blamed for not clearing all of the burn sites of hazardous material before the rains? Of course!
Speaking of tomorrow morning, my school is having an all-day, in-person training/collaboration day tomorrow. While I enjoy seeing my colleagues in person, I’m not looking forward to the morning commute in the rain. Or the commute back home -- in the rain.
Hi, Paddy. Getting ready for this storm too. Good luck on the commute tomorrow. Luckily, no UCLA-Westwood appointments this week -- last week in mild rain, it took us 2 hours to get home -- about 28 miles.
We’ve got two different surgical appointments coming up in Westwood, both with a procedure on one day followed by a postop the next day. Thinking about getting a motel for at least one of those to avoid driving back and forth.
And BTW, no matter how long you’ve been married, when your wife says “You don’t need to buy me anything -- just a card and a hug is fine” don’t fall for it.
I made ricotta gnocchi for the first time last night. It was very easy to make -- much easier than potato gnocchi and tasted great. I froze about half of it, so we’ve got another meal that we can put together on short notice.
Happy Tuesday, Gerbil Nation!

Ugh! That’s why I avoid LA as much as possible.
Glad to hear that you don’t have to drive into Westwood this week.

Good idea.
PSA: Valentine’s Day this week. Don’t forget.
