Happy Earth Day! I would ask if we are fearing cooling or warming this year but it seems either crisis are cured by the same treatment, giving up freedom, living like serfs, and paying higher taxes.

Thread pic: It’s sad when the whole planet only gets one day, while LTGBTQA12Wetc gets a whole month.

Good morning, GN. I’m sitting up with Tatum this morning. I can’t figure out what’s up with him. It started about the same time that Mrs Sven began treatments and he changed overnight from “our” cat with a home to full on stray cat mode. He’s gone for days at a time, comes back home to eat, sleeps for a few hours and then he’s gone again. Mostly ignores us and shows no affection. That’s not a surprise for his interactions with me, but he used to spend all his time with Mrs Sven following her everywhere and sleeping next to her. Not anymore.

I woke up early this morning and noticed that he was sleeping in his box cover in the spare room and let him sleep. An hour later he started whining and I fed him and then he whined about going outside. I lied down next to him, talked and petted him -- no purrs but he at least didn’t scratch me. Followed him around from room to room talking and scratching his head and then he finally went back to bed.Rubbed him some more and finally got some purrs out of him.

We met with Mrs Sven’s oncologist yesterday -- altho we still have to deal with the ocular oncologist in Westwood for a few more months, he’s the point guy now going forward. For the first time we got to sit with a doctor who has reviewed everything and gave us an idea of what to expect. It isn’t good. Thankfully blunt, he said he’s worried and ordered an MRI for today and CT scan tomorrow, so we are back to that routine. The scans and MRIs are recommended every three months for the next two years or longer.

A lot to process.

Well this sucks too. The oncologist order blood work before we left yesterday and just checking now all the results are abnormal. I can’t look at the details -- I’ll wait a few hours and get some coffee in me first.

Well, I looked. This isn’t good, but I don’t know how bad it is. Have to see what the oncologist says, likely won’t know enough until after the the other tests this week. Glad tho that he pushed to get them scheduled as quickly as he did.

Happy Urff Day, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven, and Mac!

Sven -- I’m so sorry to hear about Mrs. Sven. I know you both have a lot to process. Hopefully this oncologist can give you some answers. It sounds like he’s on top of things. In re: Jack Tatum -- I wonder if he is feeling the stress in your lives and is trying to escape it? The work you did with him this morning sounds promising.

Everyone has so much on their plate these days : (

Well, GN…. We’re back in Sedona.

We were able to visit my Mom and she seemed to be doing pretty good, actually in spite of everything. She seems to be adjusting to my brother being gone. As I said, I was kind of expecting the news of Bro’s passing any time, really. But it still did seem quite sudden. At least Mom will have some time to her self. But even though Bro was pretty mean to her, she always was aware that he was crazy so she never took it personally. We had a nice Easter dinner at Mom’s. She even made one of her signature meals which gives me the warm fuzzies from my childhood. (linguini and white clam sauce)

After that, we spent a lazy day at the Hotel. We walked around Carefree for a while until it got too hot. Then, we had pizza from a local place called Cowboy Pizza. It was pretty good stuff.

On the last day, we visited our nephews, who just had a baby. Harper lights up when she gets to hold a baby. This was in Surprise, AZ. I’m always a bit nervous driving through a big city, especially during rush hour, but I made myself do it because I knew I’d feel much better after having accomplished this long one-hour drive that I didn’t really want to do. But it’s kind of cool seeing some of Harper’s family that I kind of like a lot.

So then we headed home and got lost when the GPS failed for lack of Cell service. Instead of doubling back, we decided to go home through Prescott. Which is a very, very, long way around. Driving through Wickenburg and a bunch of other small towns. Up and down several mountain switchbacks and finally through Cottonwood, and back up to Sedona.

That’s our story. Prayers for all of you. I hope everyone has a good night.
