I was so careful with my Cilantro, But it looks like it bolted anyway. I brought it inside for the frosts, but the weather has been cold enough where it started blooming. So I’m probably going to have to try getting some more cilantro now that it’s really starting to get warm.
Happy Caturday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, dv8 (and Harper!)!
Thread pic: SoCal, that’s where.
It’s going to be in the mid-90’s at Casa du Furnijur and even hotter at Sven’s Mountain Redoubt. Unfortunately, as Sven mentioned yesterday, SoCal Edison is shutting off his power for maintenance.
I’ve never been a fan of cilantro -- maybe I’ll take another look at it.
For today’s power outage, which is scheduled to begin at 4:00PM and run until 11:00PM, I’ll pull the generator out and run the refrigerator off of that and not much more. Mrs Sven may head to her brother’s house over the hill that has a swimming pool and will have power. Right now, it’s 94 degrees out.
How are you doing, Mac? You’ve been quiet.
Stay cool, Paddy.
I’m glad that the Vatican has spoken out clearly on this mess in Washington.
The Catholic Church has issued a warning to its clergy in Washington state: Any priest who complies with a new law requiring the reporting of child abuse confessions to authorities will be excommunicated.
I understand the need to report child abuse, but I can’t condone breaking the sanctity of the confessional. I’m sure the lawyers who wrote the bill would scream bloody murder if someone wrote a law requiring them to break lawyer-client confidentiality.
But why stop at child abuse -- why not any and all crimes?
I also have no idea as to how they would enforce this/bring charges. It’s another feel good law that can’t be implemented or enforced designed to make it look like they are doing something.
I got both the front and back yards mowed, edged, and weed-whacked before 11:00 a.m. That was about two hours too late to avoid the heat. In ended up getting to 101 degrees today. Next weekend it’s supposed to be 65 degrees. I think I’m getting whiplash from the temperature changes.
The thread pic is prophetic.

dv8 -- sorry about your cilantro.
Happy Saturday, GN.

Exactly.

It’s the Trump effect, that whiplash thing.
Surprisingly, SoCal Edison got done ahead of time. Good job. Now all we have to do is get the house cooled down and put away stuff.
