Speaking of cats, Jack Tatum has now been “our” cat again for two days in a row. Sleeping with us and purring. Not sure how long this will last.
Question. We’ve maintained a landline for many years as it was reliable during power outages, but not anymore. Planning to switch it over to either ATT-Advanced or Community Phone and letting it be cell towered. Any thoughts or recommendations?
We dropped our landline when ATT couldn’t maintain the phone lines and just relied on our cell phones. There were very few people who only called our landline, so it was a fairly smooth transition. I haven’t heard of either of the services you are looking at, so I can’t give you any advice that’s worth reading.
Memories. Cleaning up stuff in between doing other stuff and came across two concert reviews that I clipped and saved from a long time back. There were four us that went to this show and we were amongst the first ones in. There was a slightly raised stage area for the band -- maybe 3 feet off the floor -- with tables right in front of it, so we grabbed one. The waitress came by for drink orders and said that we didn’t want to sit at that table. Why not, we asked. Her response was “Five or so songs into the set, Jimmy will be so hammered that he’ll fall off the stage and he usually lands right on top of this table.” We took her advice and moved back. Sure enough maybe a half hour or so in, Jimmy passes out mid-lyric, stumbles, and falls right off the stage on to that table scattering drinks, chairs, and people.

This was a show from the mid-80’s or so. Don’t recall many details about that night.
