I did some plant trimming this morning before it gets too hot. Mrs. Paddy suggested I talk my vehicle to the car wash. That’s probably a good idea as it’s already too sunny to wash it in my driveway.
I took a second Gabapentin pill early this afternoon after getting back from the wound doctor. I slept in my recliner chair most of the day and just woke up about 8 PM. I think maybe I will go back to one a day. My pain doctor recommended going up to two a day on Wednesday but the pain is under control and this stuff is very powerful. I was supposed to take one a day for the first week, two a day for the second week, and then three a day after that, but one seemed to stop the neuropathy pain and I adjusted to the effects. He tested me Wednesday and I do have bad neuropathy in both legs, probably from the diabetes. I might adjust to the effects with two pills but I don’t think it is worth it. The neuropathy pain was very bad at night or any time I tried to lay down, making sleep impossible. The one pill stopped that the first night so it was worth the effects, but this is silly. I would not dare drive like this and will not be able to get anything done. The ulcer is healing well , though a new sore opened up on the shin. This has happened twice before and they healed quickly. The wound doctor is happy with the progress and next week or the week after might be my last appointment if it stays good. That is good news. I will continue with compression socks but these can be removed so I can take showers without needing the plastic covers on the leg and no more two hour round trips.
Thanks for checking in. Mrs. Paddy is/was taking gabapentin for nerve pain associated with her hip replacements, but it’s only one a day for 30 days. She takes it at night, so sleepiness isn’t a problem. My MiL was on an increasing schedule of gabapentin like you described when she had shingles. She didn’t like the higher dosages, nor the slow weaning off/withdrawal phase. If one will do the job for you, I think that’s the best way to go.
I’m glad your ulcer is healing well. Ask your doctor if something like this would be helpful: https://trumedx.com/trudvt/
Sure Happy It’s Thursday, Gerbil Nation!

It must be something I said.
Either that or what I put in the water bottle on the left side of the cage.
Sort of number 2, I think.

As you can see, I babble on incoherently as well.
