Rented a couple of movies from Prime: The Three Musketeers parts 1 and 2. Fairly faithful adaptation produced very recently. A French film and the English dubbing is not the best, but good enough. Filmed in France and the sets/locations are stunning. Nice too not to recognize any of the actors.
I have several versions of Les Miserables from the 1935 version with Fredric March to modern ones, but I downloaded a 1934 French version, 4 hours and 41 minutes long, that is rather different from what is usually shown. If you run across it you might try it. It is in French with English subtitles.
I see part of it is on You-tube but with French subtitles. While our Gentle Harper could understand it, I certainly cannot. I saved it in 2012 and don’t remember where.
The only Dumas I have read was The Count of Monte Cristo. I have many movie versions but none really seems to follow the book if I remember correctly. I do enjoy several versions though. I think I like the 1974 version with Richard Chamberlain the most.
