Good morning, GN -- hope all is well in gerbil land. Still sick out here and now Mrs Sven has it too. Yuck.

A blessed Sabbath, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!

Thread pic -- maybe, but raccoons will wash up, first.

Sven -- I’m sorry that you and Mrs. Sven are under the weather. Get well soon and don’t try to push your recovery.

Good morning, Paddy. Thanks. I’m feeling better, but not yet well and last night was rough again. Mrs Sven has it worse and is in bed resting.

Awake, but not really yet moving, so browsing the intertubes. Listened to Marco Rubio’s speech to the Munich Security Conference. He’s one of the bigger surprises in Trump’s Cabinet as SoS -- he’s done a much better job than I think anyone imagined. Worth watching and if I had to sum it up it would be “one planet one people is bullshit and time to recognize that.”

Agreed. Rubio has been much better than I expected. Good speech.

If I had to rate them, I’d go in the top tier with Sean Duffy, Linda McMahon, Marco Rubio, Scott Bessent. Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Hegseth next, with Bondi and Noem below them. Sure I’ve missed a few, but these stick out. All in all the best group I’ve seen in a while, altho I may be biased.

Prepped for the incoming storm -- see what kind of problems it causes -- expecting the worse at least as far as our septic system goes. Whatever.

BTW, cute thread pic, Mac.

At least you’ve had your system serviced recently. Hopefully your system will be able to weather the storm.

They were right -- Trump’s policies would hurt the economy:

The price of a kilo of cocaine in Montreal has practically doubled since the recent high profile arrests of Canadian drug trafficker Ryan Wedding and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

A kilo of cocaine currently sells for $35,000 for traffickers who supply the drug market in the Metropolis and elsewhere in Quebec, compared to $18,500 just two months ago, according to sources interviewed by Le Journal de Montreal’s investigative team.

In May 2024, the price of a kilo of cocaine in Canada had then fallen to a record low of $18,500. And that was reportedly the price still being sold in December 2025.

I’m sure the Canadian government is developing programs to help those in the undocumented pharmaceutical trade who have been hurt by Orange Man Bad’s policies.
