I always drink coffee right up until I go to bed. I sometimes used to get up in the night and drink a cup from a thermos before going back to sleep, but I don’t keep it in the Thermos any more. Slept well last night, thank you.
After getting home yesterday, and guzzling coffee, I went to put my EDC on and realized I could not use it with my right hand. I do keep left handed holsters on hand and after a short search I found it. Useful to be able to use either hand (leaving this low hanging fruit for Paddy).
I was talking to a friend in McKinney Texas who moved there five years ago -- said there’s been a huge influx of Indians and most of the tech jobs are going to them -- he isn’t happy.
There is a large Indian community, with lots of stores, restaurants, and Temples. There is a large Hanuman Temple near us and the traffic is so heavy there are police directing traffic at times. I don’t know the job situation but I think Elena’s Sister may have mentioned a lot of Indian employees.
It is a very fast growing area. Lots of companies moving out here. When we moved here our realtor said it was a much desired area as Mckinney taxes are lower than Frisco but you can use Frisco schools. The property and school taxes are separate so we have the best of both for families. The property values have seemed to verify this.
Thanks, Mac -- your impressions match his. My friend is kinda furious both with the Indians and the H1B visa situation. They are actually thinking of moving back to CA -- I strongly told him not to.
And as I said, lots of job growth. It is similar to what we saw in Elk Grove, CA when we bought there. It does mean seemingly constant road work and infrastructure upgrading as ever more homes and businesses are built. Our home value has increased more than 150% since we moved in.
I want to sell this house and buy something smaller in a cheaper area, but Elena wants to keep this. I just try to tell her when I pass she MUST sell it right away as she can’t afford to keep it and the equity will give her a good reserve. If she waits until they foreclose she will lose all that. I have done what I can. We are stretched to afford this house.
Thread pic: The lines between the two are quite blurry.
Good morning, GN.
Hope you had a good night’s sleep Mac, but with a pot of coffee I don’t know how you could do that.

Funny, but not all that surprising.

I saw that this morning. Not surprised. It is one of the worse hate groups.
What’s annoying is how does it take 10+ years to figure this out and do something about it?

Happy Wednesday, Gerbil Nation!
Good mid-day, Sven, and Mac!
Mac -- I’m glad you slept well after your procedure. I’m glad you didn’t have to search long to find your low-hanging fruit.

Mac?

it seems odd that they are all settling in that area of Texas.

I wonder if they are all coming in on H1B visas?
I don’t know but I would not be surprised.
