The largest gathering of people for the stupidest event ever:
A record-setting crowd of 320,000 people attended the first round, setting a new mark for NFL Draft opening night attendance and underscoring the event’s growing popularity as a destination for fans.
I had a conversation with my endodontist yesterday while prepping for my root canal. I asked him why he was closing the office early: he told me because it was draft day and he’s a hardcore Raider fan -- Raiders had the first pick -- had to watch. I told him I was sorry he was part of Raider Nation and we talked for 15 minutes about the Raiders. He’s cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season and I laughed again. After the procedure, he showed me his office with autographed Raider memorabilia. He was jealous when I told him of my autographed Stabler- Biletnikoff picture from Super Bowl 11.
I think I mentioned a month ago how we met friends for dinner and I lost my temper after a woman I’ve known for more than 40 years mocked my faith and referred to Charlie Kirk in rather vulgar language and celebrated his death. Well, that friendship appears to be over. I reached out to her today if she wanted to meet up next week and the response was:
“On another note, I want you to know that you and Mrs Sven will always be in my heart, but I’m having a hard time separating morality from political discussion. I think I need to keep my distance.”
I politely responded back that I was grateful for our years of friendship and that she had to do what she had to do.
Mrs Sven was furious and I had to talk her down a bit. I’m a bit saddened by it all, but accept it for what it is.

Good day, GN.
The largest gathering of people for the stupidest event ever:
Never in my life have I thought, “You know, I’d really like to attend the NFL Draft.”
Yeah, it’s not on my bucket list.
I was thinking I would be hard pressed to name something I cared less about.

Happy Friday, Gerbil Nation!
Good morning, Sven!
Mrs. Paddy comes home today. I look forward to hearing about her adventure.
Wonderful -- would love it if you shared her impressions.
