Things I learned from Mrs. Paddy’s work team trip. Her team worked with the same organization we worked with in Paradise, Ca -- Hope Crisis Response Network (HCRN.Info). Just as with the Camp fire (Paradise), this organization worked with an architect to design a few floor plans and elevations and did the work to get the plans approved by LA County. This simplifies the rebuilding process for anyone that is working through HCRN. There were over 9600 homes destroyed in the Eaton fire (Altadena). To date, 600 permits have been approved and approximately 200 homes are in the process of being rebuilt. LA County has three people reviewing plans, including site plans. Mrs. Paddy’s team attended a ground-breaking ceremony for the first home that HCRN is building in the area. It really wasn’t a ground-breaking as the site had already been prepared and underground utilities brought into position. Footings had also been dug, but no rebar installed yet. Later that day the site was inspected and passed.
Mrs. Paddy’s team worked on homes that were damaged, but not destroyed by fire. One had the roof blown off and had four inches of ash in some rooms. That house had to be taken down to the studs. Another only had smoke damage. They installed insulation, dry wall, and new flooring.
I just read the “manifesto” that last night’s shooter sent to his family right before his attack. He isn’t crazy -- he’s just an enemy who believes the leftist narrative that Trump is Hitler and his cabinet are all nazis. In that case, as many have said for years, then you have a moral obligation to stop/kill him/them.
