The thermostat we’ve had for a couple of decades has decided to call it quits, so I picked up another programmable (but not smart) thermostat to replace it. It should be a simple task, right? Between the way the home builder punched a hole in the wall for the thermostat wiring and a few different sets of mounting holes over the decades, the wall is too thin and weak to hold one side of the thermostat. So now I’m repairing the wall. I’m trying cotton balls soaked in super glue, stuffed into the cavity. We’ll see how that works.
Not as well as I would have liked. The plastic screw anchor just pushed through, so I filled that hole, then used a larger, screw-in hollow wal anchor.
Happy Frustrated Raccoon Saturday, Gerbil Nation!

That’s some scary raccoon!
How went the repair?
