Locally, there’s been an evacuation due to an overheated tank of acrylic resin. I worked for the company for a year, back in the early 90’s. They make windscreens, canopies, and windows for military aircraft. The tank overheated, a valve failed, and the tank is in danger of rupture -- either slow or explosive. While it is a cause for concern, and evacuations are a good precaution due to the irritant nature of the fumes coming off the liquid, the reporting has been so ignorant and over-blown as to be laughable. The company was cited by Cal-OSHA in 2018 for having an improper top cover on one of their CNC machines and using an improper cutting coolant. The reporter stated it was unclear whether that incident had any bearing on the overheating tank of resin.
Been binging through Season 1 of The Wire. HBO has done some really crap series over the years, but they hit the mark with The Wire. That and Deadwood.
Mrs Sven is still on vacation and I think we are both enjoying our time alone. Got some house and yard work done -- several more tasks on the the list, but feels good to make some progress.
Shooting at the White House -- at some point there will be blow back and teh left isn’t going to like it.
